Explore Oregon Wines: Wineries | Varietals | AVAs | Cellar 503 Selections
Honor Thy Neighbor
January 2026
Yes, Oregon wineries sometimes use Washington grapes.
Often folks believe it is for higher yields for grapes grown there that lead to lower fruit costs. But we find more often than not winemakers are exploring specific vineyards for fruit that matches a specific style of winemaking that they feel can not be achieved in Oregon's growing climates. Washington State grows more than 100 grape varieties and produces world-class bottlings. The wonderful thing about having a front row seat in the arena of small lot wine options in Oregon is that we my fellow Oregon wine lovers get the best of both worlds.
This month we are excited to present a rich line up of flavor forward wines made by Oregon wineries with fruit grown in the state of Washington. Join us as we raise a glass to the extremely talented wine grape growing teams in Washington and the Oregon winemakers that support them.
Asante & Cheers to 2026,
