Urban Wineries Outside Portland

March 2017

We love the urban winery movement!

For wine lovers, visiting urban wineries are a great way to explore wine without having to drive too far from home. For winemakers, it's about being able to make wine without a vineyard and closer to their customers.

Portland, of course, has plenty of great urban wineries, but did you know there are urban wineries in other towns throughout Oregon? This month we're featuring urban wineries outside Portland -- Eugene, McMinnville, and Medford.

For reds, we're featuring a wine that many of our members will never have heard of! An intense and aromatic Touriga Nacional from Medford's Linda Donovan Wines and a big, bold red blend from one of our long time favorites, J. Scott Cellars in Eugene.

And for whites, we have a Sauvignon Blanc from Capitello Wines out of Eugene from a winemaker who makes wine both in Oregon and in New Zealand and a Pi not Gris from the very first Pinot Gris vines to be planted outside of Europe from Eyrie Vineyards. Both are fabulous treats for our white wine lovers.

Cheers!
