Twelve 32 is a small lot focused wine brand headed by aerospace engineer turned winemaker Matt Lemons.
It all started by helping a friend make wine in his garage. The address of his house and coincidentally ours was 1232. In 2020, after 8 years of home winemaking, Matt followed his passion into the wine industry and started Twelve 32 in Southern Oregon.
Twelve 32 features wines that are all about balance and finesse. Food friendly though not food demanding, these wines have spent the time in both barrel and bottle to round out the tannins so that glass you’re enjoying either while making dinner or afterward is just as enjoyable. In the winery the focus is limited intervention, supporting native fermentations, and using no new oak to let the wines express the story of that vineyard and vintage.

2022 Padigan Vineyard Blanc de Grenache

The 2022 Blanc de Grenache, BDG, is Twelve 32’s first white and the launch of the experimental series. The experimental series is for the more adventurous or one-off wines. Matt's original idea was a rosé, but this wine had a better plan.
To maintain the refreshing acidity, the fruit was harvested from the Padigan vineyard at 17.8 brix, just as flavors were developing. The juice was fermented with two yeast strains for additional flavor complexity. After fermentation Matt trialed adding a touch of his red Grenache to pink it up. In the end, he let it be the white wine it wanted to be, and BDG was born. BDG is startlingly aromatic with grapefruit, nectarine, and white flowers followed with wet stone minerality packed in a bone dry, crushable 10.5% package.

Not to be confused with Grenache Blanc* - this is a red grape variety made in a white wine style.
*Typically a blanc de grenache refers to what is more commonly called Grenache Blanc or Garnacha Blanca, which is a green-skinned white wine grape and the white-wine mutation of the red Grenache grape. It produces a full-bodied, rich, and food-friendly dry white wine with high alcohol and low-to-medium acidity
